Text

Ten million citizens of your nation go missing with no explanation.

Additional Notes and Information:

This is basically a watered-down, self-inflicted Without a Trace. :) The inspiration and the name come from an adventure boardgame Talisman, which my friends and I played at the same time we were playing Nuclear War. The goal of Talisman was to reach the center of the board and seize the Crown of Command. However, in an expansion, they introduced Victory Cards. You'd draw one at the start of the game and place it, unexamined, at the center. Whoever reached the center first then flipped the card to discover if, and how, they had won.

But one of those cards was indeed the Horrible Black Void. If you revealed the Void, you immediately lost the game No appeal, no way out -- just bam! you lost. That's perverse enough to stick with you.

For whatever reason, we always pantomimed that the Void hid behind a creaky door. Hence the icon above, which is meant to indicate someone opening a door and everyone being sucked in.
