Mars Attacks!

Card
Text

Marauding Martian saucers attack a random country each turn, killing 1d6 M citizens per attack.

The target can avoid deaths and eliminate the Martians by expending a nuclear warhead (before fatalities are determined). To succeed, he/she must roll equal to or lower than the megatonnage, on d100.

The Martians are also destroyed if they attack a nation undergoing biological catastrophe (Supervirus, Son of Supergerm, etc.)

Additional Notes and Information:
Admittedly inspired in part by Spielberg's War of the Worlds (though, thankfully, not because I saw that) and its much better predecessors, this card draws its name from, of course, the Tim Burton spoof Mars Attacks! (which in turn was apparently based on a 1950s collectible card series). The biological escape clause is an homage to H.G. Wells and the ending of his novel. The three rays, which form a sort of death-ray tripod, is an homage to the 1953 movie, which wanted its saucers to fly on electric legs.
